LED light bulbs have seen a sudden rise in popularity over the
course of the last few years. They are much more energy efficient that the typical light bulb, but that doesn't
necessarily mean that everyone enjoys them more. Even with all of the positives of using low energy light, many
people still have not made the switch from regular bulbs.
There are many different reasons why someone may choose to
purchase LED light bulbs over regular light bulbs, but the truth of the matter is that the general public is just
not effectively informed on the pros of LED light bulbs in the home.
If you are interested in purchasing LED light bulbs, but are not
sure what the pros of such a decision would be, you may want to consider the following.
They last up to 10 times longer.
They are only marginally more expensive, and will give you
much more life. The average LED light bulb can last up to ten times as long as the regular light bulb. You may
be able to save a significant amount of money over time by using LED light bulbs and paying a small amount more
during the initial purchase. This is one of the main reasons why more and more people have started using LED
light bulbs in their home.
They contain no mercury.
LED light bulbs contain no mercury. This means that they are
great for the environment, as well as safe for the home. Do you get tired of not being able to throw your
regular mercury filled light bulbs in a trash can so you dispose of them the right way? That doesn't need to be
done with LED light bulbs, as they contain no mercury.
They don't get as hot.
Most light bulbs would burn you if you tried to touch them
after they had been on for awhile. While you still may not want to start grabbing LED light bulbs after they
have lit a room for several hours, it will not burn you if you do so. It may be a little uncomfortable to the
touch, but LED light bulbs do not get nearly as hot as regular light bulbs do.
Less power consumption.
LED light bulbs consume substantially less power. The average
regular light bulb can use as much as 60 watts while it runs. The LED light bulb only uses a fraction of that,
using only five to seven wattage when the light is on. This will also help you save on your electricity bill,
and is a great way for you to save money through a little investment over time.
Eventually, more and more people will begin to switch to LED light
bulbs. As power becomes a growing concern around the world, conserving energy and saving the planet become higher
on everyone’s priority list. Feel free to check out the specific discussion of
